Botswana Charitable Gaming

Until 2012, charitable gaming was governed by the Lotteries and Betting Act. Under the Act, charitable gaming was restricted to raffles conducted by registered nonprofit organizations.

The scope of charitable gaming, and possibly lotteries, may expand under the 2012 Gambling Act. The Gambling Authority has the power to grant both traditional lottery and charitable gaming licenses.
